TOBA TEK SINGH, June 9: Pakistan stands on razor’s edge as wheat exporting countries will never let it enter in the international market.

This was stated by provincial revenue minister Malik Muhammad Aslam at a meeting with district and tehsil Nazimeen at the residence of PPP federal council secretary-general Khalid Ahmad Kharal in Kamalia on Sunday.

He said the Food Department had a target of purchasing 3.5 million tons of wheat from farmers. He said this year farmers would be able to sell their stocks with convenience.

He said a solution to Kalabagh dam issue was the need of the hour for the promotion of agriculture in the country.

During the next fiscal, the minister said, financial grants to tehsil Nazimeen would be given separately so that they could utilize them properly. He directed the tehsil Nazimeen to ensure use of quality material in construction projects.

The district Nazim informed the minister that the government had allocated Rs500 million for the completion of over 600 development projects in the district. A sum of Rs71.6 million was being spent on the construction and repair of 153-kilometre road while Rs120 million on 246 education schemes.

Later, the minister attended the chehlum of former MPA Javed Ahmad Khan Kharal, the brother of Khalid Ahmad Kharal, at the Kharal house.
