KARACHI: City council nominations

KARACHI, Oct 30: The Secretariat of Karachi City District Council received seven nomination papers filed for three seats of presiding officers in the council, 14 nomination papers for four seats of male and 10 nomination papers for two seats of female for the council’s representation on the District Public Safety Commission.

For three seats of presiding officers, nomination papers were filed by Ghulam Abbas Baluch, Michael Javed, Javed Azeem, Syed Rais Ahmed Kazmi, Muslim Parvez, Abdul Aziz and Bilal Sabir.

Mohammed Siddiq Rathore, Saeed Ghani, Rehman Gul, Muhammed Kafil Jaffery, Ishaq Inayat, Ghulam Abbas Talpur, Malik Muhammed Taj, Muhammed Latif Butt, Babar Abbas, Muhammed Hanif Chattani Advocate, Dr Syed Mobin Akhtar, Zahid Saeed, Mujahid Mahmood Barkati and Aftab Ahmed Danish filed their nomination papers for four seats (male) in the Safety Commission.

Women filing nominations for two seats were Mangla Sharma, Kishwar Zaman Khanum, Nasrin Anjum, Shamim Mumtaz Wasi, Sahama Arif, Mahrunnisa Baluch, Shahnaz Akhtar, Shugufta Jahanzeb, Nasreen Shamim and Raana Khan.—APP
