KHAIRPUR, June 6: The district Nazim, Khairpur, Ms Nafeesa Shah paid a surprise visit to the commercial areas of Khairpur on Wednesday.

She went through Shahi Bazaar, Phul Mundi, Subzi Mundi, and other markets at Panj Gula Chowk.

She took immediate notice of public complaints regarding garbage lying in the open everywhere and other civic problems.

She expressed resentment over encroachments by shopkeepers in Shahi Bazaar, Phul Mundi, and Subzi Mundi, and directed the authorities concerned to remove them.

DEMO: Scores of growers staged a demonstration in Sobhodero against an acute water shortage in the tails of Gurkuno Wah, Khural Wah, and Tekhano Wah on Wednesday.

Talking to newsmen their representatives said that there was an acute water shortage in the minors as irrigation officials were selling water to influential people living in those areas.
