NOWSHERA, June 6: Three people were killed, and two others sustained serious injuries, when two rival groups clashed over a land dispute near Nizampur, some 70 kilometres from here, on Wednesday.

Sultan Mohammad, son of Amir Mohammad, informed the Nizampur police that his, son, Ajmal Shah, and nephew, Niazmin Shah, were on their way to the bazaar when they were attacked by Anar Gul and Sher Gul, sons of Ayyar Gul of the same village.

Ajmal Shah died on the spot, and Niazmin Shah was shifted to the hospital.

According to the other FIR lodged with the police by an injured lady, Zarem, wife of Anar Gul, she was going to the farm with her husband and son Niaz Ali when they were attacked by Sultan Khan and Sajjad Khan, both sons of Mohammad Amir, and Zaman Shah and Niazmin Shah, sons of Niazmir Shah.

She said that her husband Anar Gul died on his way to hospital, while she and her son were injured.

The Nizampur police registered cross FIRs and started investigations.

BROTHERS KILLED: Two brothers were shot dead in Mera Khweshgi village here on Wednesday.

Firdous Khan, a resident of Spinkani, lodged a report with the Risalpur police that he was coming out of the mosque with his five sons when Kifayat and Adil attacked them.

Firdous added that his two sons, Maqsood Ali and Mohammad Shoaib, were killed on the spot.

The accused escaped the area.

Police are investigating the double murder case.
