Valuables, cash taken away

BAHAWALNAGAR, May 4: Thieves took away cash and valuables from the houses of a lawyer and a widow here on Saturday.

Thieves took away a VCR, a video camera, a TV set and a still camera from Kaneez Fatima’s house in her absence in Nizampura.

In another incident, thieves got away with a TV set, a refrigerator, ornaments and Rs19,000 in cash from the house of Chaudhry Nadeem. He had gone to see his parents when the incident occurred.

Police have registered cases.

SHOT AT, HURT: A man was shot at and injured on Friday night by his rival over the land dispute in Chishtian.

Zafar Ali was on his way home when his opponent Murtaza fired at him, injuring him seriously. He was admitted to a local hospital.

Police have instituted a case.
