SIALKOT, May 1: A villager sustained serious injuries on Wednesday in shelling by Indian troops on Kassoti village of the Sialkot working boundary’s Bajwat sector.

Sources told Dawn that Talib Hussain (32) was working in the fields when some bullets hit him. He received wounds and rushed to the Sialkot CMH in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the Indian security forces continued shelling on villages in the working boundary’s Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Bajragarhi, Charwa, Harpal, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh, Jammu, Akhnoor, Saamba, Zafarwal and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors, badly disrupting the sowing and harvesting of seasonal crops.
