Death sentence on two counts

RAWALPINDI, April 11: The additional district and sessions judge, Shehzad Pervez Abbas, awarded death sentence to a man on two counts in a double murder case, while his accomplice was released on Thursday. He was also fined Rs0.4 million.

Shaukat Ali and Fatima had murdered Col (Rtd) Anwarul Haq and his wife Sadia in their house in Chaklala Scheme No 3.

Fatima was released after she became approver. The convict was jailed for 10 years and fined Rs50,000 in a robbery case.

In case of non-payment of the fine, he will have to undergo another six months of imprisonment.

In another robbery case, Shaukat Ali was also awarded three-year term and a fine of Rs10,000.
