Students crab over mate’s murder

Published April 11, 2002

MULTAN, April 10: The students of the Government Williat Husain College on Wednesday took to streets, protesting over the murder of their mate.

Reports said Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Adeel, 19, quarrelled with each other sometime back. Adeel, later, got Afzal rebuked by his father over his harsh attitude.

On Tuesday, Afzal stabbed the student to death on the college premises and surrendered himself before police.

The participants in the rally told newsmen that Afzal had injured a boy a few months back and the administration terminated him from the college. However, he managed to kill a student due to indifferent attitude of the police.

They urged the higher-ups to bring the culprit to book without delay.—Nouman
