QUETTA April 10: The Rotary International (RI) will spend the funds, collected from all over the world, to purchase various items for the Afghan refugees living in Shalman Camp, NWFP, and Mohammed Khail Camp, Balochistan.

This was stated by the director and chairman of the Afghan Refugee Relief Committee, Mr Lin Mark Brook, speaking to the displaced persons at Mohammad Kahil Camp in Panjpai. Members of the organization and representatives of the UNHCR were present on the occasion.

All the items, comprising food material; warm clothes; jackets; boots; kerosene oil lamps; dates and other necessary articles, would be purchased from local markets in Pakistan.

Country president of the Rotary International, Mr Mohsin, on the occasion, assured all possible help and cooperation to the refugees in relief work.

They also visited camps and inquired about the welfare of the Afghan refugees including women and children.

Later on they visited schools established by Unicef in collaboration with NGOs for the Afghan children. In the camp 10 schools were set up, in which around 1,600 students were admitted including boys and girls.
