SARGODHA, March 24: An education board has been established at federal level to hold examinations of religious institutions.

This was stated by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Mahmood Ahmed Ghazi here on Saturday. He was speaking at the fifth annual prize distribution ceremony of Hifz-i-Quran Academy, set up by Payam-i-Quran Society.

The minister said that the government had prepared a syllabus for religious institutions.

He also appreciated the standard of the academy.

Earlier, academy’s principal Qari Muhammad Usman highlighted the achievements of the students of the academy.

Qari Ahmed Mian Thanwi, Qari Abdul Hafeez, Muhammad Asif, Tehsil Nazim Tasneem Qureshi and Mrs Safdar Awan also attended the ceremony.

SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS: Sargodha’s General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Muhammad Saleem reviewed on Saturday the steps taken by the district administration and army to ensure peace during Ashura.

Earlier, Commanding Officer Col Farooq Ashraf, District Nazim Malik Amjad Ali Noon, DCO Hassan Iqbal and DPO Dr Arif Mushtaq briefed Maj-Gen Saleem about the security plan chalked for Muharram 10.

He was also explained the security measures taken for Shahpur tehsil.

Later, Maj-Gen Saleem visited Khushab district where District Nazim Ehsanullah Tiwana and the DCO informed him about the arrangements taken to maintain law and order during Ashura.
