ISLAMABAD, March 16: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Motorcycle Rally has been postponed and would now be held from April 26-28.

The rally was scheduled to be held from March 29-31 from Karachi to Quetta, announced Managing Director, PTDC, Masood Ali Khan here Saturday.

He said a lot of enthusiasm, especially from the students and adventure loving tourists was observed and the majority of them have demanded its postponement.

The educational institutions, he said, will be busy in holding exams during the later part of this month and the local administration is also making necessary arrangements in the holy month of Muharram.

By the last week of April, the students and the administration will be comparatively free to concentrate on the rally which has since grown into a mega event due to keen interest being shown by people from different walks of life.

The Managing Director said that there will be no change in the route of the rally, the venue for opening ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid-e-Azam Karachi and for closing ceremony at Law College, Quetta.

However, PTDC is considering to reduce the registration fee on great demand of different colleges and universities from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 3000 for students and general public and also to allow 70cc motorcycles of any model to participate in the rally provided these are road-worthy for the RCD highway from Karachi to Quetta.—APP
