Naeem and Ali spin Northern to success

KARACHI, Nov 29: Although packing their side with a galaxy of Pakistan stars, Professional Gymkhan lost to Northern Gymkhana by four wickets in the Paragon Cup 2001, Thursday at the UBL Sports Complex.

Professionals who won the toss were restricted top 153 in their allottedc 24.4 overs with Ejaz Ahmed Jr (39) and Yosuf Youhana (33) the principal rungetters. Naeem Tayyab (4-28) and Ali Zafar (4-23) did the damage for Northern Gymkhana

Chasing 154 runs for victory, Northern Gymkhana who lost their opening match reached the target losing six wickets in the process with only three deliveries to spare.

Ahmer Saeed (41 n.o.), Mohammad Masroor (34), Mir Rashid (32) and Asif Zakir (22), contributed useful scores for their team’s success.

Off-spin bowlers Aqeel Ahmed (3-25) and Ejaz Ahmed Jr (2-20) bowled well for the losers.
