SUKKUR, Nov 29: Differences and the dispute on powers between Naib Nazim of the District Sukkur Iqbal Dawood Pakwala and taluka Nazim Syed Kazim Ali Shah were settled after an hour long meeting along with the friends of both Nazims held in Salehpat after an Iftar party.

The key role of settling the dispute was played by former deputy opposition leader Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah and both the leaders embraced each other and gave an assurance that they would not interfere in the affairs of each others and would work untidily for the progress of the city. After the settlement 132 show cause notices issued to the employees of the Sukkur Municipal Corporation were withdrawn and six sanitary inspectors, suspended by Mr. Iqbal, were reinstated.

SHOT DEAD: A man, Atta Muhammad, was gunned down near Madehji, Shikarpur, on Thursday.

A vehicle loaded with banana was headed for Sukkur from Larkana. Unidentified armed men intercepted it near Madehji, dragged its cleaner, Atta Muhammad, out of the vehicle and shot him dead on the spot. They then fled immediately.

The man killed was a resident of Qasim Junejo village.

Police sources said that he was killed due to an enmity.

Police registered an FIR against four men — Ali Gul Junejo, Nazer M Junejo, Ibrahim Junejo, and M. Hasan Junejo — and is on their lookout.
