KARACHI, March 18: Two new ministers, Qamar Mansoor and Syed Shakir Ali, were inducted into the Sindh cabinet on Thursday. Mr Mansoor and Mr Ali were administered the oath of offices by Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan at a simple ceremony at the Governor's House.

It was announced that the portfolio of Mr Ali would be excise and taxation and Mr Mansoor will be minister for social welfare, youth affairs and sports. Naeem Ishtiaq, who held the sports ministry, has been given the portfolio of health minister.

The development follows a reshuffling by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in its ranks as a result of which health adviser Noaman Saigal and excise minister Rauf Siddiqui were removed. -APP/PPI
