Two killed in Quetta clash

QUETTA, Oct 14: At least two people were killed and three others injured in a clash between two groups in Huda area on Saturday.

According to police, exchange of fire continued for about an hour after members of one group attacked their rivals. Zahoor Ahmed Lango and Shafi Mohammad Lango were killed.

The injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital.

Tension gripped the area after the clash. Heavy contingents of police were deployed to avert further clashes. Police have registered a case.

GRENADES SEIZED: Railways Police on Saturday foiled a subversive attempt and seized five hand grenades from the Rawalpindi-bound train.

Sources said that the police acting on a tip-off launched a search operation in the Jaffar Express and seized five grenades hidden in a bag. A suspect, Fayyaz Hussain, had also been arrested.

ROCKET ATTACK: Five rockets were fired on a private cement factory in the Dasht area of Mastung district late Friday night.

Police said that the rockets were fired from nearby mountains. “Three rockets landed inside the factory premises while two exploded in open area.”

A portion of the factory was reportedly damaged after one of the rockets hit the factory’s chimney. No casualty was reported. Earlier, a bomb exploded near a house in the Customs Colony in Quetta, damaging one of its walls.
