LAHORE, May 1: The PML-N pledged on the May Day that if voted to power it would give the workers all their due rights and take measures to repeal all anti-worker laws. Party leaders at a seminar at the Press Club also promised that the workers would be given representation in the assemblies and party offices.

Provincial chief organizer Sirdar Zulfikar Ali Khan Khosa presided over the seminar which was addressed among others by Siddiqul Farooq, Rana Tanvir Husain, Dr Asad Ashraf and Syed Mushtaq Husain Shah.

A resolution adopted by the participants called upon the government to remove all obstacles to the return of the exiled leaders, Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif, so that they could play their role in national politics. It also demanded the release of Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.

Another resolution said the Kashmir policy of the present government amounted to departure from the country’s principled stand on the issue. It said Gen Musharraf did not have people’s support for resolving the outstanding issues or maintaining a lasting peace in the subcontinent.
