Patrolling enhanced

GILGIT, April 30: The Northern Areas police chief has directed all the district police officers (DPOs) to enhance patrolling and checking along roads, particularly on Karakoram Highway, during the night to ensure safety to the commuters. A spokesman for the department said that Sarmad Saeed directed the DPOs to ensure deployment of required personnel on the roads leading to Astore, Skardu, Diamer, Hunza, Nagar and Ghizer as well as along the KKH.

The spokesman said that the police investigation teams has also been directed to expedite preparation of cases.

He said that the police had found body of Azam Ali who was abducted and subsequently killed in Bargu village in February last while search for another missing villager, Ijlal Hussain, was in progress.
