Asif inspires Wolves to victory

Published April 30, 2005

LAHORE, April 29: A breezy 40-ball 57 by Asif Hussain enabled Faisalabad Wolves (FWs) to ease to an easy five-wicket victory against Lahore Eagles in the second match of the triangular series in the Twenty20 Cup at the Qadhafi Stadium on Friday. The Eagles, who batted first, managed an inadequate total of 160 for eight. The Wolves overhauled that score with two overs to spare. Asif, the batsman of the tournament so far, blasted seven fours and one six in another match-winning effort. Pakistan batsman Mohammad Hafeez had earlier helped himself to a quick 35 off 16 balls. The right-hander struck two huge sixes and five fours.
