ISLAMABAD, April 29: A delegation of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) will visit Dera Bugti on May 6 to assess Balochistan situation and to express solidarity with the people of the province. Talking to Dawn here on Friday, ARD Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said the delegation, to be led by ARD Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim, would arrive in Sukkur on May 5 and from where it would proceed to Dera Bugti by road.

Mr Jhagra, who is also Secretary General of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said that Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Nawab Akbar Bugti had already been intimated about the programme. He said JWP Senator Amanullah Khan Kanrani had informed him that Mr Bugti was anxiously waiting for the ARD leaders.

During their visit, Mr Jhagra said, the ARD leaders would seek details of the recent meetings between Nawab Akbar Bugti and ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. “We will inquire from Mr Bugti whether he is satisfied with the talks or not?” he added.

He said the ARD wanted to play a positive role in resolution of ongoing crisis in Balochistan and would seek guidance from Mr Bugti whose party was a part of the ARD.

The ARD leader said that PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq, MNA Tehmina Daultana, Munir Gillani and Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmed Khan had already confirmed that they would be a part of the delegation.
