Mohammadan Club win

PESHAWAR, April 28: Right-winger Ihsanullah guided Mohammadan Club to a solitary-goal win over Khalil Youth in the District soccer league at Tehmas Khan Stadium on Thursday.

The match took a slow start but it soon gathered momentum when Mohammadan centre-strike Fazal was wrongly intercepted by Khalil Youth’s deep-defenders and referee Abdul Shakoor signalled for a penalty kick.

Mohammadan failed to cash in on the opportunity as Faraz Khan’s hit banged the upper bar. Khalil Youth made some combined attacks and in the 24th minute grabbed a penalty kick.

Inayat’s attempt off Khalil’s kick was nicely saved by Mohammadan’s goal-keeper Jabbar Khan, triggering thunderous applause from the crowd. Both teams were goalless till the end of first session.

In the second session Ihsanullah bailed out Mohammadan with a spectacular goal in the final moments. Ihsanullah took a free ball from Ibran in front of the cage and dispatched it right into the net to make it 1-0.—APP
