KARACHI, April 26: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, on Tuesday said the Shahrah-i-Quaideen flyover would be completed by May 20. The flyover is being constructed at a cost of Rs109.66 million and would have three lanes on each track. The flyover is going to help greatly in making the Sharea Faisal a signal-free road.

The nazim asked the EDO Works to remove all bottlenecks in the construction of the flyover, saying he himself would supervise it so that it could be opened for traffic by May 20. The nazim had last week himself inspected the flyover.

He said the Shahrah-i-Quaideen was an important throughway, adding an early completion of the flyover project was necessary to decrease the traffic load on the road.

Mr Niamat said the construction work of a 533 metres long and 12.95 metres wide central bridge had already been completed and electric polls were being installed on it.

He said it would be the third biggest project of its kind by the city government, and all measures would be taken for its early completion.—PPI
