DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 4: Police arrested three carjackers and seized two vehicles from their possession on Saturday.

On a tip-off that some carjackers would bring to the district cars for sale, the Cantt police erected barricades on Dera-Darya Khan Road near Basti Dhapanwali.

Two cars (IDK-628 & LXJ-5785), coming from Punjab, were stopped, bearing fake number plates. The police seized some bunches of keys of Toyota cars and Suzuki vans, but found no legal documents of the two cars.

Three occupants of the cars, named as Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Iqbal and Mehr Akbar, hailing from Multan and Vehari, were arrested.

They confessed to the police that they had hijacked the cars in the Punjab province. The police registered a case against them.
