PESHAWAR, March 5: A student of Edwardes College, Peshawar, will represent Pakistan in the United Kingdom in the 'young ambassador's programme' of the British Council.

According to a press release issued here, Adnan Aslam Khattak, son of Maj (retired) Dr Aslam Khan, is going to have a week-long trip to the UK from March 7 to 14. He will be attending different meetings and mutual cultural and educational activities with the young ambassadors of UK, who will be gathering at Hungerford, London.

Adnan, who is a student of FSc (pre-engineering) at the Edwardes College, says it would be a wonderful opportunity to have an interaction with his colleagues from Britain. He added that they would be exchanging views and try to highlight the prominent features of their culture.

The student has a brilliant academic record. He got second position in FSc (part 1) from the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar.

The British Council launched the programme last year. Initially, three students each were selected from different leading colleges of the country.

Throughout the year, a number of workshops were carried out and article writing competitions held and ultimately four students were selected, one each from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar, to represent Pakistan in the UK.
