New products good for economy

KARACHI, Feb 5: Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro has said any time a new product is marketed or a development takes place in the country it brings good advantages to people by way of creation of various opportunities for them.

Pakistan is definitely a large market with growing population, rising income, buying power, leasing facilities has created a situation with tremendous demand in various sectors, automobile included.

He was speaking as chief guest at the formal launching ceremony of Nissan automobile products here on Saturday.

He noted with delight that people were now taking advantages of the growing opportunities.

Mr Soomro pointed out that competition is good for consumers, quality and price structure, when it comes from inside it proves very supportive and facilitative.

"Today for Pakistan, our entrepreneurs and business people are a great asset, because they are the one who are providing opportunities, giving government revenues and contribute to the development", he said.

"We are looking at every aspect and would ensure that investors are fully accommodated and facilitated".

He said every entrepreneur and investor, whether local or foreign, among other things looks at the consistency of policies, infrastructure, cost of production, labour laws, judicial system etc., for making investment.

All these aspects had been addressed and continue to be focussed upon by the government so that entrepreneurs and investors feel at ease.

Earlier, Gandhara Nissan Ltd President Gen. (Rtd) Ali Quli Khan Khattak, Vice-President Nissan Automobiles Japan and Manager World Automobiles Asif Dar also spoke on the occasion.-APP
