FAISALABAD, Dec 18: Five people, including a lawyer, were arrested for attacking and injuring a group of lawyers and creating law and order in the district courts here on Saturday.

Reports said Nadeem Shibli advocate and Rana Talha advocate and his colleagues were on their way to appear before the court of an additional district and sessions judge in a hudood case. The two lawyers started squabbling after which Shibli and his men attacked Rana Talha and injured him and his colleagues seriously.

In the meantime, lawyers present there informed the Rescue 15 and area police who rushed to the spot and overpowered Nadeem Shibli and his accomplices Amjad, Sajjad, Sharif and Yaseen. However, over two dozen accomplices of the accused beat a retreat.

The police on the report of Rana Talha advocate have registered a case against the five arrested accused and their 25 unknown accomplices under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Meanwhile, the district bar association criticized Nadeem Shibli advocate for attacking his colleagues with the help of outsiders. The bar observed a token strike against the incident and demanded of the police to investigate the matter purely on merit.
