SHARJAH, Nov 20: Canada will take on Scotland in inaugural ICC Intercontinental Cricket Cup final here from Sunday. Ahead of the decisive first-class encounter, both captains provide an insight into their teams' progress and plans.

Canadan captain Ian Billcliff said: "Our players certainly have the ability, if we can apply ourselves then we will be competitive."

He said in semifinal his team got runs and then "we were able to apply pressure, so in that regard things did go to plan and obviously we made it to the final."

On strategy in the final, Billcliff said, "I think it will come down to application. Our players certainly have ability if we can apply ourselves then we will be competitive.

Scotland captain Craig Wright said they have played Canadians a few times and know majority of their players. "We won't worry too much about opposition and will focus on our own performance. We have a good all-round team. If we perform to our abilities we have a good chance in the final.-Agencies
