KHAIRPUR, Nov 18: Four armed men gunned down Liaquat Ali Rind in the A-section police area on Thursday. The armed men who were on motorcycles opened fire on Liaquat when he was on his way to school in Mumtaz colony.

The A-section police handed over body to his relatives after post-mortem. No case was registered till the filing of this report. Primary schools of the city were closed after the incident. The motive behind the incident was said to be karo-kari.

KIDNAPPED: A girl was kidnapped in the Jalal Mangnejo village of Gambat taluka on Wednesday. Seven armed men entered the house of Miran Bux Mangnejo and held his family members hostage at gun point. They kidnapped Zakia Mangnejo, 17.

The father of the girl lodged an FIR at the Gulo Siyal police station against Hafiz Mangnejo, Rafiq, Ibrahim, Ali Gohar and three unknown armed men. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.

HIJACKED: Some armed men hijacked a tractor in Noakot village on Wednesday night. Tractor driver, Noor Shaikh, was ploughing in the fields of Ghulam Rasool Sehto when the incident happened.
