MULTAN, Nov 16: Dera Ghazi Khan district Nazim Sardar Jamal Khan Leghari has said that the tribal area people and those living in south of the city would be provided with water pumps worth Rs70,000 each for quick supply.

He said this while exchanging Eid greetings with people at his residence in DG Khan on Monday, the second day of Eidul Fitr.

Federal Minister for Telecommunications and Information Technology Sardar Awais Khan Leghari was also present on the occasion.

"Some 300 water pumps would be provided under this scheme and people are required to file their applications with the DG Khan EDO (Agriculture) with a copy of identity card for this purpose," Jamal Leghari said.

He said the people would have to bear the expenses for installation.

Jamal Leghari promised that process of DG Khan development would continue unhindered and warned the officials to perform their duties concerning development schemes honestly and diligently.

Federal Minister for Information Technology Sardar Awais Khan Leghari said that Wireless Local Loop Telephone service had started functioning in 13 different places in South Punjab, including DG Khan, Choti Zeireen, Layyah, Chowk Azam, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Kabirwala, Sardarpur, Bahawalnagar, Chishtian, Hasilpur, and Dunyapur.

The same facility would be made available in Jampur, Rajanpur, Taunsa, Rahimyar Khan, Sadiqabad, and Vehari within the current month, he added. -APP
