SIALKOT, Nov 11: Three people were shot dead by dacoits on offering resistance while cash and valuables were taken away in different strikes here during the last more than 24 hours.

On Muradpur-Kulluwal Road, landlord Muhammad Zafar (40) of Suraj village was coming to Sialkot on his tractor-trolley when three bandits intercepted him and shot him dead on resistance.

In Muzaffarpur-Uggoki, labourer Khalid Mehmood was killed by three bandits on resistance during a dacoity bid on Wednesday night.

On the Chawinda-Pasrur Road, a motorcyclist, Asad, of Sabeelpur was shot dead by three gangsters on offering resistance.

Two robbers made off with Rs150,000 from doctor Humayun Akhtar in Gulbahar. Three dacoits looted Rs150,000 at gunpoint from Liaqat Ali in Bharokey-Daska. In Talhara-Motra, three outlaws made off with Rs12,000 in cash, a licenced rifle and pistol at gunpoint from Maulana Ali Nasirul Hussaini and his friend Abid Shah.

In Adalatgarah-Uggoki, three bandits looted cash and gold ornaments worth Rs100,000 at gunpoint from the house of trader Abdul Majid. Dacoits took away a motorcycle (DVA-549) at gunpoint from Muhammad Idrees near a church in Kotli Loharan.

Thieves took away a luxury car (LZF-4849) of trader Farhat from Poorannagar, Sialkot. In Langriyali village, thieves took away eight buffaloes from the outhouse of landlord Muhammad Riaz.

In Barath-Cantt, thieves stole a motorcycle (STN-3660) from the house of Muhammad Kamran. In Kotwali-Sialkot, thieves took away a motorcycle (STN-3630) of Imtiaz from a local shopping centre. Near Jaamkey Cheema-Daska, dacoits made off with a motorcycle (STF-5351) owned by Sadiq.

Police have registered separate cases with no arrest or recovery.

SHO HELD: Motra police on Thursday registered a case against its SHO and arrested him for tempering with official record.

Reports said Inspector Shaukat Ali deleted the names of two proclaimed offenders from a murder case after getting illegal gratification.

The case was registered under Section 409 of the PPC and 5/2/47 Anti-Corruption Act.
