RAMALLAH, Nov 7: Acting PLO leader Mahmud Abbas and Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qorei have requested permission from the French authorities to visit Yasser Arafat in hospital, official sources said Sunday.

"Abu Alaa (Qorei) and Abu Mazen (Abbas) have made a request to the French foreign ministry that they want to go and see Arafat," a source close to Qorei told AFP.

"They don't just want to travel all the way to France and not be able to see him like Faruq Qaddumi. They are still waiting for an answer from the French. We cannot confirm whether they will be travelling," the Qorei source added.-AFP
