GUJRANWALA, Nov 7: Sadar police on Sunday claimed to have arrested one of the killers of a primary class student who was kidnapped for ransom in Jandala Baghwala village on Saturday.

Police traced the accused with the help of their mobile number they had been using for demanding ransom from the family of the slain. The arrested accused was identified as Ghulam Mustafa while raids were on for the arrest of the remaining accused.

As per reports, Sunail (8) was on way home from his school when his neighbours kidnapped him for ransom of Rs0.5 million. The kidnappers rang his family members and threatened to kill the boy if they did not deliver the ransom money to some specific place. At this, the family members paid the ransom money to kidnappers, but they found the body of Sunail from a nearby drain. Sadiq Masih, the father of slain boy, is residing in Italy.

Meanwhile, family members and residents of the village blocked the road to protest the killing of Sunail and demanded immediate arrest of all the accused. However, they dispersed when a senior police officer reached there and assured them that all the accused would be arrested soon.
