HARIPUR: 38 teachers transferred

HARIPUR, Nov 6: The executive district officer, schools and literacy department, Haripur, issued transfer orders of 38 teachers on Friday.

The transfer order also carried a reference of directives from the NWFP chief minister vide his letter NoSO1/ SCM/ NWFP 3-15 /2004 dated Oct 22.

Under the order, 20 male and 18 female teachers of different primary, middle and high schools were transferred and posted to other places. However, official sources pointed out certain flaws in the transfer order.

According sources, the transferring authority had transferred four female teachers who were appointed on contract basis and could not be transferred from the station of their first joining of service under the rules of contract mutually signed at the time of hiring of contractual staff.

The affected teachers from the contractual staff are included a CT teacher, a PTC, a drawing and theology teachers at the serial number five, 20,25 and 35 of the transfer order.

In some cases, the mandatory stay tenure was not taken into account and teachers were transferred to their desired station much before completion of three years period at one station.

Officials also said that some teachers had been posted in some other places while the order carried their present posting different to the original ones which was visible in serial No6, 21 and 27.

Meanwhile, the EDO was not available for comments.
