Rockets fired at scouts camp

WANA, Nov 3: Militants fired rockets at a scouts fort in North Waziristan late on Tuesday. However, the attack did not cause any damage or casualty.

Eight rockets were fired at the Razmak Scouts Fort. Three of them landed inside the camp while five others missed their target and fell outside.

Later, three more rockets were fired at a scouts post in Makin, a border area between two Waziristan agencies, wounding two paramilitary soldiers.

All the rockets in the two incidents appeared to have come from the eastern fringes of North Waziristan. In another incident, a soldier was wounded when an improvised explosive device hit a convoy in Sam area between Ludda and Wana.

Meanwhile, Mianzai Mehsud and Behlolzai Mehsud tribesmen met assistant political agent, Ludda, Arshad Naveed, to discuss the formation of a committee to resume search for foreign militants in the region.

In Wana, Yargulkhel Wazir tribesmen met assistant political agent, Wana, Khan Bakhsh, and discussed the proposition of furnishing guarantees that would bind them to deny refuge to foreign militants.

The Yargulkhel Wazirs are the only tribe among the Waziri tribes that have not furnished any guarantees to the government to the effect that they would not provide shelter to foreign militants.
