ISLAMABAD, Nov 3: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) told a Danish delegation that the country was being run by an individual who had 'no respect for the rule of law' and that the government was involved in political victimization.

PPP leaders Farzana Raja, Senator Rukhsana Zuberi, Pallo Shah Behram and MNA Fauzia Habib were talking to the delegation, which was led by chairman Jann Sjursen, on Wednesday.

The delegation comprised Helga Moos, Henrik Vestergaard, Keld Albrechtsen, Anja Riber Skyrdt, Jacob Stahi Otte, L.B. Peterson and Danish Ambassador to Pakistan Bent Wingostski.

The incarceration of 'political prisoners' like Asif Ali Zardari, Pir Mukarram, Yousaf Raza Gillani and Javed Hashmi was also discussed on the occasion.

The PPP leaders said the regime had established the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for the sole purpose of crushing political opponents and compelling them to change loyalties.

The government, they said, was apparently beating up the drums of democracy, but, had, in fact, forced the top leaders of the country into exile.

They also sought the intervention of influential countries for ensuring sustainable and true democratic rule in the country.
