KARACHI, Nov 3: The Sindh Health Secretary, Prof Naushad Sheikh, in a departmental meeting on Wednesday reaffirmed his commitment to streamline the working of his department with major emphasis on bringing order in accordance with merit and seniority.

He also underscored the need to expedite long pending decisions as well as projects beneficial for the masses.

The meeting attended by additional health secretaries and deputy secretaries of the provincial health department was also directed to provide him with the seniority list of department officials within a month's time so that necessary measures could be taken for their due promotions.

Senior authorities of the department were also urged to ensure that they must dispatch the pro forma already provided to them regrading the ACRs of health department employees before the next meeting scheduled for coming month.

Mentioning that such meetings would be a regular feature and would be held on a monthly basis, Prof Naushad urged that orders issued and summaries signed by him must not be delayed, or otherwise, strict action would be taken against those responsible.

The secretary expressed his firm commitment that corruption of any kind would not be tolerated. He asked senior officers that any of his orders if found against rules must be referred back to him without any delay.

Additional Health Secretary (Development) Manzoor Memon and Additional Health Secretary (Admin) Riaz Abdul Memon also attended the meeting. - APP
