LAHORE, Nov 2: Special teams comprising three members each from the Chief Minister's Inspection Team have been constituted for checking quality of work and utilization of funds in mega projects of agriculture, health, irrigation and education departments.

This was stated by CMIT Minister Shuja Khanzada while presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday. He said the teams would submit their reports to the chief minister for action.

He said the chief minister had decided to give more powers to the CMIT so as to end corruption in government departments. It would check attendance of officers and officials besides monitoring the performance of their departments. A strict disciplinary action would be taken against the absent officials, he said.

He said the record of all development schemes would be maintained in a computer room being established at the CMIT headquarters in Lahore. The development projects would be daily monitored, and a strict action would be taken against the officials found guilty of any irregularity or corruption.
