QUETTA, Oct 30: Chief of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has said that his party has submitted 15 proposals to chairman of the parliamentary sub-committee headed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed on issues being faced by Balochistan.

Talking to newsmen in Dera Bugti on Saturday, he said JWP Senator Amanullah Kanrani had handed over the proposals to the chairman of the committee on behalf of the party the other day in Islamabad. He said his party had no representation in that committee.

"The JWP has given representation in the sub-committee regarding constitutional issues," he said. The Baloch nationalist leader said that these proposals were not new and these had already been submitted to Mr Tariq Aziz, a close aide to President Gen Pervez Musharraf.

Replying to a question, he said he had no big expectations from the performance of the parliamentary committee and sub-committees, as history of such committees was not good.

He, however, expressed the hope that there would be a positive outcome of on-going parleys and deliberations of the parliamentary committee on Balochistan problems. "I pray for a better outcome of parliamentary committee's deliberations," Mr Bugti said.

In reply to an honour killing bill passed by the National Assembly, the Chief of the Bugti tribe said that the laws had been approved by those people who had no clear perception or understanding of human behaviour or conduct on such sensitive issues.
