ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The advisory committee of Indus River System Authority is expected to review water availability for the Rabi season in view of improving situation in major reservoirs.

According sources, any decision regarding revision of water share will be made in the committee's next meeting, scheduled on Nov 1.

They said the water position, particularly at Tarbela and Mangla, was improving due to recent rains in the catchments.

They said that if more rains occurred in the catchments, the water level in the Tarbela and Mangla dams would improve.

The water at Tarbela on Monday touched the level of 1,478.57 feet, which is 109 feet higher than the dead level of 1,369 feet. The level is 72 feet lower than the capacity of 1,550 feet.

Water inflow at the dam remained 30,900 cusecs and release was recorded at 42,900 cusecs.

The water level at the Mangla dam was recorded at 1,159.8 feet, 119 feet above the dead level of 1,040 feet.-APP
