GUJRANWALA, Oct 25: A couple committed suicide by taking poisonous pills over monetary problems at Satellite Town here on Monday.

Reports said Muhammad Nadeem of Talab Degiwala quarrelled with his wife Salma Bibi, a mother of two children, over financial problems. Later, she swallowed poison and died on way to hospital.

When Nadeem found his wife dead, he came out of the hospital and consumed poison. He died on the spot.

Meanwhil, a man shot at and injured the brother and grandfather of his lover over failure in marriage and later committed suicide by shooting himself here on Monday at Sadhoki.

Reports said Muhammad Azeem wanted to marry 'N'. But her father 'S' and other family members rejected his proposal and arranged her marriage. On this Azeem shot dead the girl's brother, 'K' and injured her grandfather 'T'. Later, he committed suicide.
