KARACHI, Oct 20: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan on Wednesday inaugurated a lease office at Nasir Colony in UC-2, Qayyumabad.

He said that dwellers of kutchi abadies were being granted ownership rights at Rs25 per sq-yd for the first time in the history of Karachi.

"Lease rates of kutchi abadies had been fixed at Rs2,500 per sq-yd in the past, but the city government has decided to extend maximum relief to people of these areas by reducing the lease rates," he added.

While, after the grant of lease, development works in kutchi abadies would be carried out under the master plan.

Nazim Korangi Town Abdul Jamil, UC Nazim Ilyas Rashid, Chairman Lease Committee Goharul Islam, Qazi Saddaruddin and others were also present.

He directed concerned officials to provide all possible facilities and information to people at the lease camps.

Furthermore, the nazim said that the KPT had initiated construction work on a flyover at Hino Chowk under Tameer-e-Karachi Programme.- PPI
