KHAIRPUR, Oct 16: The Jagirani-Solangi tribal feud claimed three more lives on Saturday when 50 armed men attacked the Ghulam Mustafa Jagirani village in the Ghaffar Shah area of Kingri taluka.

Besides, three men were injured, five houses were set on fire and cattle were herded away by the attackers.

The armed men resorted to firing for about three hours, killing Shahzado, 22, son of Daud Jagirani, and Piyaro, 80, son of Rodan Jagirani, and injuring Raaz Mohammad, More and Pathan.

The attackers fired rockets at some vacated houses as a result the houses of Din Mohammad, Asghar, Arbab and Kehar Khan Jagirani caught fire.

During the attack, 50 armed men had blocked the road between Khairpur and Pir-jo-Goth to prevent police and fire brigade from entering the village under attack. Police lobbed tear gas shells but failed to lift the blockade.

After the assailants had fled, police reached the village in armoured personnel carriers and took two bodies to a hospital for post mortem.

Tension has gripped the area where more police contingents have been deployed and new police pickets set up.

With the latest killings, the number of villagers killed in the tribal feud has risen to 20.

Please add in earlier story of Khairpur.

Meanwhile, Jagirani tribesmen have claimed that the body of a six-year-old child, Gulzar Jagirani, has been found from a burnt house, during attack by some armed men on Saturday morning.

When the police Chowki of Wada Machiyoon and the Ahmedpur police station were contacted, they did not confirm the claim made by Jagirani tribesmen.
