HYDERABAD, Sept 18: The accused in a motorbike scam, involving over Rs200 million, were remanded in police custody for three days by the judicial magistrate-IV on Friday.

Two separate cases of fraud and dishonouring of cheques were registered against Akbar Khan and Anzar ul Haq at the City police.

They were produced before the court by inspector Siraj Lashari of the Phulelli police.

A case was lodged against them on the complaint of Mir Mohammad Naeem, a vegetable commission agent, under sections 489-F, 420, 406 PPC.

The complainant said he had deposited Rs9 million for delivery of 240 motorbikes in his name and for his friends.

The accused failed to deliver bikes and profit to the tune of Rs9,996,000.

KILLED: A man was killed while two others injured in a head- on collision between a van (CK-9418) and passenger bus (P-0004) near Hatri on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ghulam Hussain, 30, the driver of the van, a resident of the Talib-ul-Maula colony Hala.

The injured include Gul Hassan and Mir Hassan.

Our Bureau Reports: A resident of Ghulam Ali Chandio village, Matli taluka, Khuda Bux Khaskheli, has accused police of falsely implicating his son, Nooral Khaskheli, in a murder case.

He was speaking at a news conference at the press club here the other day.

He said a man, Yousuf Chandio, was murdered on Aug 12 this year and the Matli police officials Nazeer Abro, Ghulam Rasool Ahmedani and Ayub Gadhi had arrested many people in the case.

He claimed real culprits were not arrested due to faulty investigation.

He alleged that his son, Nooral Khaskheli, and another man, Nisar Chandio, were falsely implicated in the murder case and sent to jail.

He demanded that the Sindh governor and the chief minister should depute an impartial police officer to reinvestigate the case.
