HYDERABAD, Aug 14: The 58th Independence Day was celebrated in the interior of Sindh on Saturday with great fervour by the people. In Hyderabad, the main national flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the district nazim secretariat.

An exhibition of rare books, documents and reports about the Pakistan Movement was organized at the Sindh University.

SANGHAR: The district nazim hoisted the national flag at the district police lines. Special prayers were held in schools for prosperity and solidarity of Pakistan.

MITHI: The main function was held at the government boys high school ground and government buildings were illuminated and markets were decorated to mark the day.

Prayers were offered in Hindu temples for the solidarity and progress of the country.

DADU: The federal minister for industries, Liaquat Jatoi, attended a programme held in Dadu town as the chief guest.

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: The main function was arranged at the government high school where the district nazim hoisted thenational flag.

BADIN: The day began with the flag-hoisting ceremony by the district nazim at the government high school ground.

LARKANA: The district nazim attended the national flag- hoisting ceremony at the municipal stadium.

SUKKUR: A ceremony and march past was held at the Jinnah municipal stadium.

All the main government and private buildings were profusely decorated and illuminated to mark the Independence Day.

The Independence Day was also celebrated in Khairpur, Jacobabad, Mirpurkhas, Ghotki, Shikarpurand other cities and townsof Sindh.
