WANA (South Waziristan), Aug 7: A paramilitary camp in Wana came under rocket attack in the small hours of Saturday, resulting in damage to its boundary wall.

The rocket was fired from the northern side of Wana scouts camp which hit its boundary wall, partially damaging it. No loss of life was reported.

The scouts personnel deputed in the Wana bazar retaliated by starting indiscriminate firing, which hit a nearby private hospital, Ajmal Medical Complex, and damaged some of its portions.

The hospital owner, Ajmal, said that the firing by the scouts was so intense that the patients admitted to the hospital had to take shelter under beds to save their life.

The scouts also found two live missiles in the area from where the attack on the camp was launched, and defused them.

Meanwhile, the tribal people have criticized the director general of Inter Services Public Relations, Maj-Gen Shaukat Sultan, for his statement that during the ongoing military operation terrorist hideouts had been eliminated from Shakai area.

They disputed the ISPR claim that terrorists had been killed in the operation and their hideouts eliminated.

They said that the ISPR claim could be verified from the number of civilians, including children, women and elderly people, who had either been killed or wounded in the operation.

The non-combatant tribesmen who were injured during the operation were still admitted to hospitals for treatment, they added.
