MIRPURKHAS, July 31: Jamaat-i-Islami general-secretary Munawar Hassan has accused the rulers of working for the interests of the US.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, he regretted that a man in uniform was ruling the country and was nominating and changing prime ministers.

Referring to the killing of two Pakistanis in Iraq, he said the country was mourning their death however, he added, the incident was a reaction to the SU-supported foreign policy of the rulers.

He observed that a puppet government imposed by the US was ruling Iraq which had been rejected by Iraqi people.

He warned that the MMA and other parties would launch a protest campaign against the government if it sent troops to Iraq.

About Shaukat Aziz, the JI leader alleged that he would follow policies of the World Bank and the IMF if elected as the prime minister, instead of resolving grievances of people.

He said there was a need to launch a joint movement to ensure superiority of the Constitution and law.

Meanwhile, MMA activists held a protest demonstration here on Friday against the killing of two Pakistanis in Iraq.

They condemned the killing and said it was a result of the government policies.

They said measures should be taken to ensure protection to Pakistanis living in Iraq.
