QUETTA, July 24: Islamabad will help Balochistan in obtaining soft-term loan from the Asian Development Bank, says Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz.

He gave the assurance while talking to Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf who met him in Islamabad the other day.

Officials here on Saturday said that during the meeting, Jam Yousuf discussed various issues with Finance Minister Aziz including shortage of funds for ongoing development projects, payment of outstanding dues to the province under the head of gas development surcharge and rescheduling of federal government's loans to Balochistan.

The finance minister told the provincial chief minister that the federal government was aware of Balochistan's problems and would extend all possible financial help to help resolve these difficulties.

He said that steps would also be taken for rescheduling loans besides taking steps to ensure payment of outstanding GDS dues to Balochistan.

Shaukat Aziz also assured that more big development projects would be launched in the province besides ensuring the completion of ongoing big development projects in Balochistan.
