BEIJING, June 27: Pakistan and China have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in non-traditional security to combat terrorism and check drug trafficking.

"There is complete unanimity of views between the two sides on the issue of terrorism," said sources here.

The sources told APP that matters relating to the anti-terrorism campaign were discussed by the Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing when they met in Qingdao last week.

The two sides reiterated their resolve to maintain close cooperation to fight terrorism.

Mr Kasuri reassured the Chinese side that Pakistan would never allow militants to use Pakistani soil for their terrorist activities inside the country and beyond its borders.

According to Chinese official, the two sides agreed to maintain regular contacts to take similar position on regional and international issues.

The Chinese side had noticed the actions taken by President Gen Pervez Musharraf and the government in the fight against terrorism and 'religious extremists', he said.

The actions had gained popular support and demonstrated the courage and resolution of Gen Musharraf and the government in this regard, the official said and added that the international community, including China, had given full affirmation to those actions.-APP
