RAWALPINDI, June 26: Two persons were killed in separate incidents here on Saturday, police said. Mansoor Qureshi, a salesman at a shop in Ganjmandi area, was shot dead by some unidentified persons while he was crossing a road.

In the second incident, a young man identified as Imtiaz was killed after being run over by a train near Marrir Chowk. The police have handed over the body to Imtiaz's relatives after postmortem.

Meanwhile, robbers, burglars and auto-thieves struck at eight different places in Rawalpindi and made off with cash, jewellery and five vehicles, police said on Saturday.

Jamsheed Akhtar lodged a complaint with the Westridge police, stating that five robbers entered his house and looted gold ornaments and Rs12,000 in cash after taking the inmates hostage at gunpoint.

In another incident, some persons booked a taxi (IDG-2003) for Mandra and snatched it from its driver, Syed Jamil, at gunpoint and escaped.
