SHEIKHUPURA, June 12: Tension and anger gripped Muridke town on GT Road on Saturday after a minor, believed to be the fourth victim of yet unknown serial killer(s), was found murdered.

Reports said Mohammad Shan (6), a student of class I, went missing on Friday. Later, his dead body was found by some passersby in a vacant plot located near his house. Eyewitnesses said Shan's abdomen had been cut with a sharp-edge weapon.

Earlier, three identical killings of minors took place in the town during the last six weeks. Irfan Ajmal (6), Muhammad Ramzan (7) and Tehseen Haider (6) had been found butchered. All the killings were reportedly carried on Fridays.

The news of the incident spread like a wild fire as scores of people chanted slogans against the police which claimed to have arrested two suspects, black magicians Baba Imdad Hussain and Hafiz Arshad.

Sheikhupura Range DIG Syed Saqlain Naqvi, DPO Mohammad Nawaz Warriach and other officials reached the spot.

Mr Naqvi said it was difficult to link the fresh killing with the last three. "However, we will investigate it thoroughly."

Meanwhile, the traders of Muridke would observe strike on Sunday (today).
