BAHAWALPUR, May 29: As many as 13 candidates filed their nomination papers on Saturday for bypolls on three Punjab Assembly seats.

PP-269, PP-275 and PP-276 fell vacant after the resignations of three MPAs Malik Khalid Mahmood Warran, Dr Muhammad Afzal and Shoaib Karim, who after changing their loyalties, would now contest on the PML-Q tickets. The candidates are: PP-269 (Ahmadpur East Tehsil): Malik Khalid Mahmood Warren (PML-Q), Malik Rashid Mumtaz and Sardar Riaz Ahmad Dahar (PPP).

PP-275 (Yazman Tehsil): Chaudhry Ijaz Rasool, Shakil Mirza (PPP), Khalid Mahmood Jajja and Chaudhry Iqbal Gulab (PML-N) and Shoaib Karim (PML-Q).

PP-276 (Yazman Tehsil): Saleem Akhtar Bhatti (PPP), Dr Muhammad Afzal (PML-Q), Tariq Mahmood Chaudhry, Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema and Irfan Aslam Chaudhry.

The papers will be scrutinized on May 31 and June 1.
